One that could easily be the most beautiful beach on the planet
It is never too late to write about Easter and an amazing trip to the center/north of the country to visit Tofo beach. The trip started early morning, with a glorious sunrise with reddish orange tons and some hours of sleep left.
In a small but spacious Nissan Cube, we did the approximately 10 hours ride to the destiny, being gifted once again by the outstanding landscape and endless roads lined with coconut trees.
The photos are mostly taken by my friends Helga Matos and João Sá. You can appreciate the work of Helga Matos here: https://www.facebook.com/Helga-Matos-Photography-422067834555083/?fref=ts

The roads there are just like this....... endlessly beautiful
Quissico lagoon is one of the paradisic spots in the way there
Once arriving we were hosted by Fatima's Backpackers, which is a super relaxed, friendly and well decorated hostel and were separated in common rooms with bunkbeds.

In this great weekend we included a "patched-sailing boat" trip to the pig Island, which is now a bit of a touristic spot but was once named after the raising of pigs in the spot. Arriving and walking in the Island is like arriving to a different era. Much of the culture and the structure of the houses I've seen in my daily work, but the fact that all of this is surrounded by water gives it an even more impressive tone.

The well spent day in the Island let us try a very good fish, climb coconut trees, and realise that even in the existing conditions (with no electricity from the grid) almost every house owns a small pv panel to generate their own electricity!

The weekend was full of amazing moments of swim in the Indic waters and great nights of good company and afro swing music and dance. Just by lucky coincidence on that weekend the hostel was hosting the Maputo Afro Swing festival, so in addition to see traditional African dancers we could spend the night dancing lindy hop just by the beach.

As cores são fabulosas, que contrastes!
ResponderEliminarFaltam-nos os cheiros, os aromas mas tu irás conserva-los, pela certa.
Bem como essa harmonia homem natureza que transparece.
